Abstract

Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are used for node to node communications for a fixed purpose under mobile conditions. Different applications have found MANETs useful for communication tasks. The challenges while such a communication is performed are plenty. Although a number of protocols have facilitated the communication between mobile nodes, there is an unavoidable interruption in the network due to link failures. In this paper, we have investigated the application of opportunistic routing in Location Aided Routing (LAR) protocol. Also we propose an enhancement on the LAR protocol to improve the linkability while routing. Simulations are performed by the network simulator to compare and analyze the LAR and the IOGLAR protocols
